RESPONCE TO TEXT QUESTIONS
Do any of the characters change in the story? what caused them to change?
All of the characters change in the story, they all grew as characters. Take Scout for example the book started when she was just five and ends when she is eight. They all grew and evolved.
If you could trade places with one of the characters, which one would it be, and why?
I would trade places with Scout because she is so smart for a child and is very ambitious. She does what she wants and asks questions and isn't afraid to either. She likes to have fun but is also very loving and caring.

What do you think was the best part of the story? Why?
I think the best part of the story was when they all went to Cal's church. It was interesting to see how they acted around black people and how the black people acted around them in their own church. Also how Scout was so interested in how they did things.

What was unique about the setting of the book and how did it enhance or take away from the story?
I liked how the setting was in the 1930's in Alabama when the depression was going on and there was such a struggle. I think it enhances the story 100%, its what makes the story. Even though the Finches are better off than most it still shows the poor times too.

How am I different by one of the characters?
I am very different from Jem, he seemed uptight and tried to act mature. He tried to hard to be old and was mean. Like when Cal accidentally walked in on him in the bath and he freaked out.

Would you read something else by the author?
I don't think I would, even though I enjoyed the book its not really something I would pick out for myself to read or the type of book I like to read.

Do the characters seem real and believable? Can you relate to their predicaments? To what extent do they remind you of yourself or someone you know?
The characters do seem real. I could picture children playing in the snow and stealing a hat from a neighbor. The younger kids in the book remind me of my sisters, for example when my sisters play in the snow they like to take things from the neighbors yard to build and use as "props" just like Scout did.
