The book is told in Chronological order because it is told over a time period but it is from start to end. The characters grow older throughout the book. Scout starts off as a five year old and at the end of the book Scout is eight.
In the book there is plenty of description. On page 7 and 8 there is a description of Dill; what he was wearing and how he smiled. The author used this in this section because it shows how Scout saw Dill because she liked him.
The story is written in a time period of about four years. This also shows how the characters grew up and changed like chronological order.
